I'm trying with this video to give a better look for the general public at what spearfishing entails.. I'm not finished with this video as it needs further refinement and some other bits put in like the cooking of the catch. Would like to hear some suggestions about whats good and bad and also whats missing with this video.

hahah i really liked it mate, a good video for a beginner to watch and see what its all about. a little bit more spearfishing action would be good or even if u spent a day filming your dive buddy would be good.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. All the footage was filmed on a solo dive so thats why there's only shots of fish already speared. I kind of got the idea for the vid while having a couple of brews on my birthday and went out the next day and did it, so not alot of "clear" thinking went into it. Now that i've done the vid its clear to me that its necessary to make mistakes and see whats not working or could easily be improved. lighting is another factor I need to get my head around, particularly for stills.
Don't have a gun mount yet and also having thoughts about making some kind of tripod setup for the cam which i could just jam in the sand or wedge in rocks. i'm definately intending to use a second person for some things too. One other suggestion made to me was showing the ike process, which i think will be a must for the update version along with the spearing fish part.

lol jaws. do you remeber the music vid for epic? at the very end it i think there was a goldfish flapping around on a piano? gasping for water... incase your wondering, no, the thought didn't cross my mind

my next installment.... was really happy with the first minute of the vid but after that the editing became really tough using windows movie maker. the problem was that the music was falling out of sinc with the pics/vids and i couldn't continue to match the scene changes and effects with the music.... time for a software upgrade for my next vid i think...and i need to go out and take a heap more footage and pics.
