Just been playing around with editing some old footage, and I realised I don't know what the main fish in this school is. Anyone know? They're in about 10m of water off Phillip Island if it helps. I can't seem to embed in HD, but there is a clearer version at youtube.

I'd guess silver biddies but I haven't seen them schooling like that before.

Close enough to get an ID, looks like they're Southern Silverbelly. The odd headshape/eye position and lower fin seem to separate them from silver biddies. They also school over protected areas of sand, which is exactly where I found them. Fishes of South Oz, species 313, pg 62 for those playing along at home. Cheers for the help.
