How did you prepare you magpie perch and leatherjacket? I shot 1 of each on Friday that I'm going to add to fishcakes with my other mixed fish I'll hopefully get this week :) I'm going to try to get a few fish species to mix together to test out Haha

oh haha, do you use one type of species for each of the different fish cakes or is it all just mixed fish in each cake?

sorry mate by prepare do you mean how did I clean them at the beach with a knife or what do I do to them in the kitchen prior to / and or cooking them?

Magpie perch and LJ's are both great eating fish! Stuff fish cakes, skin the jacket and cook it in foil. Fillet or scale and gut the Maggie!

I've eaten and love LJ but one wouldn't be enough for my family, so I thought a mixed bag of reefies would be good in fish cakes, I've never eaten magpie perch before might try that instead? Gonna see what I manage to spear today at cottage again, then decide what to do with them!
