reminder: FEB photos are due at the end of this this month, this is the second last opportunity to submit an image, as the comp finishes next month (march), hopefully kurt will post up the results and i will send the monthly winners their dvds.

after speaking with rob milar it looks very likely that the photo of the year will be printed and framed.

MARCH is the FINAL month of the photo comp! if you have missed out on submitting an image during the previous 4 months this is your last chance.

a 'photo of the year' will be then voted on and printed up and presented to the winner at the preso night. monthly winners will receive a blue water hunting DVD.

Congrats to everyone who submitted images, they are all great photos. now all we need to do is vote on a photo of they year, so pick a favorite and cast your vote at one of the next club meetings. (i will bring a laptop).

so far,

rhino's jan pic

"A Goby seconds before it pinched my camera!"

has accumulated the most votes from last nights meeting as

'picture of the year'

it will be printed and framed for the preso night

if there are people who havent voted and wish to do so, please pm me your preference, personally i feel rhino is a worthy winner, having produced some quality shots.

second place was
-Baby Trumpeter taking refuge under a jelly at the Prom

with votes ranging across the board on
-Hermit crab on migration from that rock to the next one!
-An Ambush Predator In Attack Mode.
-Two flathead eyeing each other off.
-Sandy on a rock.
-Stargazer ready to pounce.
-King George whiting cautiously pass by.
-Port Phillip bay Nudibranch.
-Old wife-No limits dive.

overall, the comp appears to have been more successful than last years, with almost 30 entries for the season. i am still waiting on mrT to forward his monthly votes, so that the monthly winners can be awarded their dvds.

a wide range of species have been covered by this years photographers and it was a pleasure to look closely at all of the photos that were sent in.

well done to all who contributed,

and a special thanks to kurt who set up the website, and did much of the ground work with voting.
