Last season we saw a good representation of our ocean life through the many images submitted, i hope to see many more this season.

some great prizes are up for grabs and even a blue camo torelli/auf wetsuit for the best shark photo (which must be logged if you wish to be eligiable). if there was ever a time to share some of your pics this would be it.

so on the 1st of december any photos you guys take of the underwater marine life in victoria will be eligiable for the first month of the comp, good luck to all.

If someone wants to comprimise their intergrity for the sake of a wetsuit, they are a loser.. Plain and simple!

Plus they would have to beat the likes of Rhino, Grant, Brett, Drew, Spook and Jack first

It doesn't matter if some idiot gets on his Scuba Gear. The blokes who win the comp can dive deep enough for long enough to get a good picture anyway. Besides, its all about having the right settings to take the right shot rather than having the bottom time from what I've heard.

I just need a bloody Ikelite housing for my G9 and I'll be ready to go ;)

Wouldn't you be better to leave it there for people to look at and compare etc. I like being able to go back every now and then and have a look at the pics, why get rid of them?

i would be a shame to lose all those pics kurt, i was hoping just to add to the growing club album.

if people want to cheat that is their prerogative, however, just like in spearing comps you will eventually be found out, and when that day comes you will have to carry that reputation and shame.

i dont entirely agree with that. certainly the right settings help, however, if your not in the right place at the right time to take a shot it will be hard to cover certain species. bottom time helps eliminate many variables, and allows you to play the numbers game with flighty fish, in a sense photographers are still hunting, reading behavior and terrain to zero in on their target. that being said many great photos have been taken in the first few meters below the surface, but the photographer was targeting shallow water species.

looking forward to seeing what the new season brings, and some new divers contributing.
