WHAT A FARSE
It must be very frustrating for someone like Koops to put up with this crap and my appreciation goes to him and the work he has done, as well as to the club for the support and back up on the matter.
A pre-determined plan backed up by no research what so ever.
INSULTING really

I just read the submissions. Farking hell . It makes you wonder if half these people have been in the water. Where do they think we are Jarvis Bay.

Anyway here's a link http://new.dpi.vic.gov.au/fisheries/con ... ubmissions. I suggest getting a a pack of aspirin ready if your going to read them all.

Dammit now I'm all angry again!

We're the only bloody ones with half a clue a no-one gives a shit! Will we have access to any research undertaken in the next 12 months?

What happens when at the end of the year with no change in the population. I bet they then pull something like they need further protection.
This government has absolutely no environmental policy so they pull shit like this to try and appear like they are doing something for the environment.  .

Todays Mordialloc Chelsea Leader... I wonder where the image originates from....NSW?? Certainly looks like an eastern to me! note: they don't or can't specify the specie, nor is there an author (99.99999% chance it would be an 18 - 25 year old smokin blonde VW diesel driving Adam Bandt supporter).

Just how much can they milk this bull-shit
I can't believe Vic is still drawing compairisons with NSW ... I just wish they would cut the umbellical cord and accept the many diversities rather than pushing for far stretched analogies. Next thing PP bay will be renamed Botany bay.
and the same goes with the Queen ... get rid of the monarchy and establish a council of elders ruling by the wise use of the spear in tru local fashion

I just got a letter from the D.P.I. Hurst says the decision was made after "consultation with relevant stakeholders and consideration of the available information" . You don't need to guess where the needle is pointing on the bullshit meter for that one.
He finishes it with some kind of weird arsed attempt at sucking up by asking for ways to "improve opportunities for spearfishing, particularly noting that there appear to be emerging opportunities to fish for popular northern species such as mahi mahi. " For those that don't know mahi mahi is the Hawaiian name for dolphin fish. not something we have below about Bermi and even then only at the height of summer.

Radio marinara just had a blue groper question on their quiz "Why are blue groper now protected" I rang up to tell them that ABC and D were wrong but I doubt they will pay any attention.
