Can I just remind you that if you dive or fish either of the FADs, please record the date, time, number of boats fishing the FAD, fish seen, fish caught. This will help me out greatly when I go to report on these things at the end of the year. Photos would also be great.
Especially you Brett! BTW, it would be very rude for you to shoot a dolly of the Portland FAD before me!

spearo 935 it looks like your the man to talk to about these fads. after the fantastic king fish season at the prom and portland iv been thinking alot about the benefits of some sort of fad on the pinicals off cape woolami on phillip island.i think this area has a lot of protential for kings if a fad was there :D several years ago i worked on fishing boats that trapped kingies in nsw and the same technique as the traps could be used here as a fad.just interaested to here your thoughts on this buddy?

That is the sort of talk I love Brown Man!

We are hoping to expand the FAD progran next year. Woolami was talked about, but hasn't made the cut for next years application. We can add it the following year if this really takes off. Will be asking you for lats and longs when we do!

What we need is reports. We have had a lot of people say they know someone that caught something off the FADS. Need first hand reports!

Yer mate, thats it. Also called mahi mahi and dorado, which are better names anyway cos it doesn't lead to people thinking you catching dolphins!

off report

OFFSHORE CAPE SHANK:
I received an SMS message on my mobile phone during the week of an angler holding a Dolphin Fish. After asking where it was caught he said 20 kilometres off Cape Shank. Bill from Preston and some mates went tolling for striped tuna but ended up catching 20 dollies around the 3 kilo mark. They all took various coloured 6” skirted lures.
If anybody would like to see the photo’s drop into the Cranbourne Store.
