I'm guessing you mean dusky morwong. Fillet it, then freeze for a fortnight, defrost over paper towel. you will see green slimy shit come out of the fillet. This gets rid of the shitty iodine flavor they have, then flour them and fry in a pan. Some dill is nice on them.
Drink at least 6 stubbies before you eat them and you will be right. :wink:

chuck it in a curry laksa...they go perfect together. i find the gourmey asia at home laksa paste from most supermarkets works the best

I have eaten a few times but it was only decent once, the fillets even came from a big fish. I suspect that any method which gets the
sewage-like stuff out of it will help (as mentioned) and then cooking in somekind of strong flavoured sauce (as mentioned) or spice will mask whatever bad flavour maybe left.

...but why would you bother? I only had to catch and taste one juvenile one to realise that this was possibly some of
the worst fish I ate. Ironically I found the texture to be quite light and succulent.

I think everyone agrees it tastes shit though, so maybe its not even worth trying if you have not had it.

I have not tasted Wrasse yet because of the bad repuation, not really sure I will either.
