 Post subject: Help with Fish id...

Out Black rock saw a fish im unfamiliar with.

Long thin fish similar to a Whiting, dark in colour with Metellic Bluey/greeny spots towards the back of the fish and same color in a line around the end of the tail... Really caught the eye when the sun was reflecting off of it in the right direction.


Does this make sense, Can someone shed some light on this for me.

Sounds like a Grass Whiting, havn't dived black rock to know if they're in that area however.

Righto Thanks, put them on the don't shoot list :)

Was funny actually had a big Wrasse follow me the whole dive, could tell it was the same 1 as something bigger had had a go at its back and it was scarred ... He got a good feed of fish guts ...
