Saw a fish today which kinda had the markings of a goatie with a prominent staggered black stripe on it's lateral line. Fins were larger and much more rounded with a blue outline. Thought it was a goatie from afar till it put it's fins up and out, dorsal might have had a few spines at the front too? Little larger than a big goatie! Pretty sure i've heard of it or seen it somewhere but can't for the life of me remember, reef fish. Any thoughts?

Nah, free swimming fish. Fins did remind me of that with the blue outline and being so rounded but more of a rounded goatie sorta shape! Someone will know! Shadow, Brett?

hey. I saw something similar yesterday. Looked very similar to a black drummer with bright blue edges to the fins. Same shape as a drummer looked really stocky but every fin had almost baby blue trimming. Anyone got any ideas and are they good to eat?

shape of the fish was the same shape as a bream or drummer. Had a full black body and baby blue fins. What you think?

Yours will most likely be a Scaly fin, they come in heaps of different colors and patterns. I saw a richmond supporter Scaly fin a few days ago.

Bloody hijackers! What about my fish?

No spots that I recall, the black stripe was unmistakable tho!
