Hooked up with Lynchy and Brad yesterday for a shore dive. Drove 50K north of Broome to try and find some clean water. 8M tides atm, 0.1-3m viz. Good fun, not super fishy but managed this makky and Nick got a bonus jack in the shallows. Flashers were useless in the dirty water.Burlying up in the dirty water was fun especieualy after all the shark talk  brining in some smaller fish. After 2-3 drops in 5m of water on my burly i saw a nice grey/silver shape. Surfacing i told Brad and Nic there was somthing down there that was sizeable. Didnt look like a shark (too silver).
After loosing my burly spot i was swimming back to where i though the hot spot was and this puppy swam straigh under me..Head down, fins up 2 second chase to get a better shot angle. "WHOOFDA" pluged it in the sholder (shit shot)
The 90cm carbon gun was super in the bad viz. With the reel coming into its own when the fish took off. Didn't give me too much and i had it in my hands after a gentle fight making sure the shaft didnt pull.
Great to catch up with some vicco dive buddies away from home. I will never be bumbed about Melbournes bad viz ever again!
enjoy oZ
