Had a work trip to WA and got in the water yesterday as the cray season opened on the 15th. Diving around Rottnest saw lots of crays, they are predicting another strong season here. Nice 18deg water and 10m viz. Got a couple of jumbos of 3.1 and 2.3kg from 5-8m depths as well as some of the usual 0.5kg. Still a few berried and setose crays around. Didn't have a gun but saw a good school of tarwhine to 1kg and a lone kgw of 1.5kg. Fisheries checked everything at the Leeuwin ramp. Also picked up a beautiful WA dhufish (undersize and out of season) on line from 18m, released OK.
