So it was in about 16m of water off north west solitary island with some sandy bottom and scattered bommies and rubble. Vis about 8-10 m on the bottom. No burley. I was on the bottom hiding in a crevice surrounded by a school of surgeon. It just appeared and hovered above me...........Schtonk! Rhino---I never saw the one with Tim |

i'm in nsw atm..... been spearing/snorkelling near Moruya- which is kinda near Broulee. basically just got red morwong- fairly nice. also went to Malua Bay... anyone been there? just snorkled as i'm pretty sure its a marine park... far out... the fish life, if only you'd be able to spear there. maybe 10 seconds when i'm in.. pretty big snapper.. probably biggest i've seen, then later, luderick, blackdrummer...its just kinda neat to snorkel probably find a place where u can spear there.. and hope the fish life is the same... NSW.... probably be coming back to melb tomorrow ... little sad, for the spearfishing side of things peace |

Dove Bittangabee Bay for the last week with fluidhigh and his brother. Mostly good Vis. Shot Bonito only to have it eaten by something in the water, which got me a nomination for the annual Bitangabee Dickhead award. Shot salmon, black/silver drummer, rubberlip and the list goes on. Drove 1700km's went 4WD in the commodore, got burnt, got rained on, sat around the fire, drank beer, nearly got bitten by a brown snake at night time, watched my mate get bitten by an eel, saw octopus, massive groper, wobbegong, dove 12+ meters (PB), couldn't find the elusive Kingfish apparently they haven't turned up yet, ran into Edenspearo (how did u go that day mate) . Too much to mention. Awesome time ! Couple of Pics.

Up in bermagui with Brendan at the moment, weathers been up and down but have managed 3 dives so far. Via has been averaging around 10 -15 with some better patches a bit further out. We've shot lots of salmon up to 66 cm. I've been using the 1 meter reel gun for these and its a blast shooting them with the drag turned right down. Drummer (Brendan shot a massive one, can't verify but felt around the 2-2.5 kilo) other usual reefies have been shot, banded and blue mowies, luderick and flathead. We have bumped into some big bonito but haven't been given many opportunitys. We have also seen kings up to around 15kg in schools but haven't had shots. Were gonna take the flashers out next diveable day and hopefully get onto them. |
