This forum is both supportive and pedantic, I like it!

Actually Octopussy, I think Geoff is on the right track.
Today, a dusky morwong. Tomorrow - a billfish!

I'm eager to learn so I'm just absorbing like a sponge here.
I'd love to get a Six-Spine Leatherjacket, since it's the first fish I ever identified.

Yes PPB has been pretty good so far. Clifton Springs was better than I could have hoped for.

I found this video of the Great Victorian Fish Count which seems to go through a lot of species, including my beloved Dusky Morwong at 2.03.

Hey Remickz, let me know how you go tomorrow.

Wow Watto, what a story.
The fish in your photo are massive, looks like you and Puss are serious business!
Maybe I'll just use parrot clips when I attach my keys ; )

Photo does them justice, there only 10.5kg kings.
Shark clips are pretty easy to use but can be left open with catch bag draw strings. Safer to purchase a lock box.

Woot! This thread was awesome :D Completely understand now why last weekend I was tossed around like a ragdoll in some sandy soup on the back beaches thanks to all the tides talk! Thanks! Sadly didn't get to spear anything, but I did salvage the situation and caught some snapper on the line and scooped some mussels.

Also, impressive float lady :D When you're heading out to Clifton Springs again let me know! I havent speared on that side of the bay yet, hell keen!
