Went for a quick paddle today to nail some salmon....
Was a great couple of hours in the water !!

Thanks to Brett Illingworth for the company, and quality Esclapez gear to keep me toasty warm.

Nice! I was down the Peninsula on Sunday ascending Arthur's Seat and numerous other hills on my bike and noted how flat the water looked. Even Flinders looked OK on Sunday arvo. Stayed in Flinders overnight because I had a few too many with dinner at the Hotel to drive back home. This (Monday) morning looked a totally different story either side of the pier and around Mushroom Reef, choppy, windy and murky from the places I was standing.

Do you use this wet suit in summer? Can't believe you can still dive in such cold weather!

Well done!!

Yeah mate it's good for summer.
When I get too hot I just let some water in through the hood. Or just slide the hood off for a few mins and cool down.
The only parts that were cold we're my feet, coz my booties have so many holes!

Hi camskea,

Hope you(or other buddy here) don't mind if I ask few more questions.... I'm quite new to free diving...

How do you find the winter dive around Melbourne(ppb & back beach)? More fish live & better vis? From your photos the water looks fantastic!

What's the thickness of your suite? Is it still comfortable(on movement/weight side)? >> I just have a 3.5mm so after April was too cold, I really want to extend my(& my buddies) season!

Generally what I should look at when buying a new(or used) wet suite for weather here?

Cheers~~

Gday mate(keith)

Plenty of info on the site here regarding what type of thickness to wear in vic waters. Just do a search? Or look in the geartalk section.
