Post subject:  Sandy Point!

Hey guys heading down to Sandy Point with a mate in March just wanted some pointers on where to go ect? have the option to take the boat just dont have a 4wd to launch off shallow inlet.
also any chances of catching anything with a surf rod off the beach? and cape liptrap?

Cape Liptrap looks really promissing i'd go for spear there or fish!, i wouldn't waste any time fishing from the beach in the inlet only small school fish are common i've found. It's very seasonal though can't hurt to ask the general store there.

You dont need a 4 x 4 to launch at Sandy Point. Low tide is best.Cross the bar and head south along the coast. Plenty of reef patches behind the breakers a few km down towards the prom. Watch the weather as it can change quickly. Good idea to have a GPS to find the channel if fog closes in on way back.
