Went to the schank last friday with Rhino, vis was around 5-8 m. A good school of trevs were down there and we ran into them a couple of times, bagged a couple up to 800gms. Some mid size sweep were hanging around just close to the entrance point in bushrangers. Got a snook too. Saw some big tails swim away from me at one stage, don't know what they were but they were fat!

Yesterday went after Bretts trevs with Adam and nailed a nice one within 5mins of hitting the water, went 1.38kgs. Saw them a few more times but very skittish. Couldn't get within range. Took a couple of nice sweep then we had some lunch and headed down to Sorrento back.
Adam got a nice Trev of about 850-900gms of the back of a ray and I acquired a Trump and a Pinkie. Great days diving, also saw salmon, pike, whiting, crays, snapper and the usual reefies.
Tried again for the Trevs at first light this morning with Luke but no luck. Saw them once but the second they saw me they were off. Never saw them again but saw a snapper, couple of salmon and found some great terrain so it was worth the trip. Only 5 more sleeps! :D

Dived the Shank today with Tim and Luke chasing Crays. One of the most frustrating dives I have ever done and I reckon the boys felt the same. Between us we found probably close to 20 legal crays with several pushing the 3kg mark. Couldn't get our hands on any of them!
Not even 1!!! All of them right up the back of every ledge we tried, most being at least 1mt past our best effort. Not for the lack of trying though, burley pins etc. Vis was a nice 7-8mts, hazy after that but a nice change. Saw squid, snapper, pike(which Tim's pranger made a mess of) and I managed this Yellow Tail Scad. Only 100gms off the Vic record. Damn!

Went to Number 16 backbeach Friday arvo, lots of scuba divers and spearfishing crews out there. Beside the usual kelpies and wrasse saw one cray and shot two squid, the others got a pike, saw a big boarfish and we all got harassed by a massive ray.

Good vis and no swell. perfect conditions

Me mate saw a scuba diver using a snare trying to catch a cray, tapped on her shoulder and gave her the no-no-no finger! they left the water not long after.

It was a great dive on Friday- flat seas, clear water, good company- went with gigantor and stabafish, met spearo776 and nelson out there . Plenty of crays, I was very happy with my catch it went 3145gms.
