It does sound strange especially giving I had a reading of 15*C in Mornington 3 weeks ago...
But it wasn't just my dive watch giving such high reading on Sunday
I usually also allow for the watch being tucked under my glove and take 1-2*c off.

I dived blackrock kind of area yesterday - Vis is ok. I would say 4m most areas down to 2m, water is super warm this end of the bay and fish life is coming alive now with the warmth.

I dont think Alan was referring to squid at black rock mate. This is a PPB dive report section of the forums so he was simply posting that he got in the water. Youd have more luck finding about spots by reading the previous 180 pages on this section of the forums (thats what i did). Good spots for squid are generally kept quiet as they are a prized catch this time of year.

If you browse through the other posts in the dive report section (Whole section, not just the PPB section) you may find some ideas of where to find the squid.

Out on the Bellarine today at my local spot, tried a new area. 1kg Snook and a 1.4kg Snapper. Lots of whiting, pinkies and what I think were Travelly. 6-8m viz which seemed to close up after high tide.

Took the "Bitch" out for a swim on Friday.
Got outside for a look and the crays looked at us and laughed.
Few nice frogs for the table made the day a success.

Got out this morning as the weather is still good. Warm enough for my 3mm and losing some lead ;)

I have just ID'd a weird looking fish as a Stargazer. 1st one I have ever seen. It was big (40cm?) Didn't shoot it as it seems rare and didn't know what it was. It was filtering sand though its gills and bringing in the snapper schools (and some Trevelly). The snapper ignored me and continued hassling the Stargazer. I bagged 2 while it was doing this then I couldn't find it again. Also got my 1st Whiting on the way back in.

Last weekend near Beaumaris with Boosted from the forums

Got lucky with the 63cm Snapper and a bunch of Snook.

Great day off the boat.
