Got moist with Brett today. No cephalopoda. I shot a whiting. I lost the whiting. Id like to say it was miserable on top of the water only, but underwater wasnt the best either. Still had some good visibility though

10 degrees in the bay, felt like i was smuggling raisins on my chest

Gave me a good chuckle at the use of moist there Mitch, pity on the whiting!

Went for a dive down at portsea pier. Water cold, vis not too bad and current bloody strong. Saw no squid, plenty of grass whiting and shot a 32cm magie.

Got "soggy" today with Kerrin. No good fish around. 10 degrees. Frozen nipples.

I have dived the bay a few times in the last week or so - highlights for the week - shot 2 cans at Black rock in terrible vis and 30 knots of wind with boostedsk but the sun was out so all good.

Also dived with Marlon from watermaarq working on my technique - lots learned but very cold if the sun is not out @ 11 degrees in and out of the water....the crays and scallops are still safe for now but I am slowly getting deeper.

should be a great weekend

Surely everybody went diving on the weekend ? - the weather was sensational both days...back to 12 degrees tomorrow!

I dived Brighton Saturday, 3-4m vis and 13 degrees water. Hard to find good structure that is deep enough to hold fish, maybe saw one pinky in the vis and a couple of small leatherjackets - current was surprisingly strong for the middle of the bay.
On Sunday I dived southern PPB area, strong currents, 13 degrees with great vis. Awesome dive, shot some leatherjackets and a nice cuttle - there were also some nice big snook around and KG whiting but both manage to evade my spear a number of times.....

Do snook taste nice?

Cool. I will have to try and not be such an unco next time and shoot them, they should be easy to shoot as they just sit there yet somehow I missed...one monster even let me have 3 shots at him.

Once you get the hang of them they are fun to shoot.. I always struggled with shooting them (Still do, but that applies with all fish too  ) but hit more often now.

Snook is over rated IMO. Plenty of guys smoke it, then it comes up a treat.
