You're spot on Dale. Willyweather is good for tides & sunrise/sunsets that's it. I've been out the back of barwon heads when it's blown the exact opposite direction and 20 knots stronger than what willy has predicted.

Kerrin if you want some nice conditions ocean side your mate from work isn't far off. General rule is offshore winds and low swell for a couple of days should clean it up.

I use buoyweather app, swellcast app, magic seaweed app, swellnet & BOM.

Today me Steve and Shaun went to catbay.

Vis was very murky.. Some good rocks around but no crays, not much fish life.

Also tried flyns reef, was horrible vis, a little swell made it hard to

Went to Loch Sport on thursday to Sunday for a Mancation with some mates.
Was given the heads up about emu bight in lake victoria. I double checked with fisheries about the spearing zone so i got excited and packed the dive gear in the car.
Dove Lake Victoria in the legal zone on friday and saturday.
Friday vis was 1m. Stayed out there for a while as i was hanging to shoot something but didnt get a shot off.
Saturday vis was 1/2m. Got desperate and started chasing mullet that i could see when poking my head out of the water (Felt like a gopher), spotting the mullet, chansing em and poking my head out again, over and over till i gave up haha.

I would be really interested to know if others have dove there and what conditions provided clear enough water to see past the end of their guns. Please let me know as i would love to go back at some point and shoot something there...

Haha just a guess  . Going by the area you were in and the size you told me it narrowed the field.

F...n pests also called draughtboard sharks. At woolami comp had my float anchored and then it started drifting away. Found the end of my floatline in its mouth munching on a berleyed sweep but no anchor. She unclipped it some where.....anchor gone. :x

Yeah the sweep are great eating in my opinion.

Any one got any fav sweep recipes?

Geoff, with the "anchor" what does that do again? Just hold your float line and flat in the sand/rock so u can unclip your gun?

Nathan I used a snapper recipe out of a cook book.

Soy Sauce, lime Juice, ginger and brown sugar in a pan to make the sauce.

just lightly flowered the sweep and chucked it on a frying pan for about 5min a side until crisp using a generous amount of oil. Add sauce and spring onions to serve.

served it with a bowl of rice. damn amazing.....

hi guys,
unfortunately no king fish for me and Jai yesterday :(, But Jai did see some which was exciting for us as we have never encountered them so that was a real treat!

conditions were awesome a Viz was about 15m so we had a great dive none the less and grabbed a couple small fish for dinner :)
