G'day everyone, Just thought I would let everyone know of my latest dive at Saint Kilda Pier. I live very close to the pier and thought i would give the pier a shot and see what was lurking around. i went in with very low expectations, and boy was i disappointed hahaha. The biggest problem with the pier was the visibility, i couldn't see the end of my gun! let alone any fish.... after swimming around for 10 mins i returned home after posing for a couple pictures with the tourists on the pier. A bit of a waist of time but at least i know that i am not missing out on anything. If anyone knows of any other spots around the Port Melbourne to Sandringham area let me know. Thanks |

There are heaps of spots all the way down to the border of the Beaumaris Marine Park ( Fourth St.) Sandringham is going off at the moment with Bream, Snapper, Snook, Fathead and more. Water is 19.5 degree with 8m vis! I have only seen it that clear once before. I had a cracking dive their last Wednesday afternoon. |

It is illegal to spear within 30 metres of any pier in this state. |

Very well aware of this law Brett, and I kept my distance from the pier itself. An interesting question would be is entering and exiting the water from the pier illegal even if you keep a distance when fishing? |
