I shot a couple of Magpie Perch the other day, seeing that they were rated as being 'very good' eating quality. The couple I ate tasted very ordinary IMO, am I doing something wrong with regards to cooking them or are they just best left alone in future? On the other hand, I must say I rate Red Mullet very highly (also rated as being 'very good').

its more personal choice.
some love them others dont.

i will only shoot one i think is a fair size
i also agree that red mullet are yummy, fun to shoot and good to eat.

how did u cook the maggie?
