Came up to Tocumwal on the Murray yesterday to set up some tents to save our spot for New Years! Right now I'm just sitting on the bank, rods in the water and jack in hand!

Have caught a couple of cod, silver perch and a big yellow belly! No carp either!

Believe it or not we were just watching some Greys jump along the opposite bank right in front of us when a little bit of the edge collapsed and one of em fell off the edge and tumbled into the drink! Took him 20mins to get back up, one of the best things I've ever seen up here!

Nah all those popular beaches are to packed and no good for the boat. Used to go near Greens Lane but lately it's been a bit further up, less snags!

I got some pics of it in the water on my phone so Ill post a pic if they come out any good, prob a bit far for the phone tho!

Nice place to camp, we were up Ulupna Island, down a very ruggered track last week for 4 days, caught lots of barley legal cod, few of the trout cod and of course the ever present carp. By the end of it we were just fishing with Bread! was catching everything on it! awsome fun, give it ago

Is that the Island off Greens Lane? If so, great spot! Spent a few new years there! Pretty overgrown at the moment tho.

As for the cod you can't beat a Bardi! A guy that comes up some times caught one that hung over both sides of his Landcruisers bonnet when he drove it in to get it on ice! Had the cod sussed for the better part of 10 years up there now. Even know someone who has mapped out the holes when it was low so they can just rock up and fish the hole until they've got the pair! New pair move in every year without fail. Kinda takes the suspense out of it tho I reckon!

Haha, its not Cod fishing unless your losing expensive lures in the snags! that just sounds too easy :) Hows the current in the stretch ure campin atm? it was flowing damn fast where we were last week, I tried swimmin a lap across the river, ended up a good 400M downstream, wasnt easy getting back  Got a shrimp net out? we caught heaps of them! some times you get hardly any but there was just millions of them this year, good bait too!

Haha the currents always a bitch to swim against, where we are is only waist deep for about 15-20mts out, not too strong and a nice sandy bottom!

Yeah plenty of shrimp but you'll find you can only get a certain amount from a spot then it's fished out so time to move the net. Shrimp are good as the tiddlers leave em alone. Not a big fan of lure fishin, too much work! I'm up there to chill and relax, the fish are just a bonus. Rod in, bell then beer o' clock for me!

Good to have a few carp around for the kids too. About 11-12yrs ago when it flooded we caught one that went from my shoulders to my knees! About 8-10kgs+, monster fish. Put it in one of the ponds behind us and it stayed there for the 2 weeks!

We're at Guilmartins bend. There's about 100 of us so there's a mix of ski boats and fishin tinnies. Most of the prop run ski boats don't last the trip thanks to the logs and on the rare occasion one of the jets will hit a stump and put itself out of action. Every year it's the same but worth it!

Only a few days left and I'm the only one who's caught a decent fish so far so looks like I could have it this year with a bloody underside cod! 530, bout 2kgs.

Wanna pm me a tip on the pigs wot? Have my bow here, would be a great way to end the trip!
