Caught this 72cm 4.7kg badboy at mordi pier last nite at 9pm. Heaps of fish were getting caught on the tail end of the W-SW wind we have had the last cpl days. Biggest I saw taken was 6.1kg and average size was 3kg, not bad for a bayside pier :shock:

reckon they'd spear em during the day, with burley at mordialloc or in melbourne?

is it snapper season already?
i'm in nsw

the westerly wind really dirtys the water up mate, thats why the snapper come in there. BUT i recon if you put the time in you would have to be a chance.

Thanks for the comments guys! Would love to get a nice red on the spear aswell this summer!!!

Muzza's right about the dirty water. Mordi can be a very average pier to fish but the strong onshore blows brings quite a few big reds in.
