 Post subject: On Bubbles 15-1-13

Went for a dive today off Phillip Island on Scuba. Viz was unreal!! picked up 2 crays saw countless abs some Sqmeters would have had at least 5(pity no take day)
first time i have seen a school of kingies underwater! they are amazing!!
saw heaps of fish life even a penguin and a seal at the start of the dive. the seal was playing with a fish like a toy throwing it around! Great day on the water!

Didn't fancy holding my breath sown to 30+meters! Even Cray bashing in 14m would have been non eventful for me. Just have to keep practicing and I'll get their one day!

30m crosses out pyramid , woolami, seal rocks. One one other spot I no that scuba divers go that has 30m ;)

Yesterday a Greek friend of mine and a very canny fisherman showed me a picture of a solid Kingfish he caught a week ago at the Newhaven Pier with a fishing rod. He also told me that it was an incoming tide and a direct southerly of more than 15 to 20 knots. He wouldn't tell me what bait or size hook or anything else about it. He only gives me tips when I actually go fishing with him! On that exact trip he caught an enormous Flathead which I saw a photo of as well. He said he thought it may be an elephant fish or another kingy until he reeled it in and discovered to his delight that it was a huge flathead. I reckon it was upwards of 75cm long. So, it seems the Kingy's are around.
