Hi All,
I’m running a 1 day pool based freediving course on Sat Feb 5 in Melbourne. It will cost $195 and run from around 9am to 5pm. Please email me on walter_steyn – at - yahoo.com.au for more details on the course and how to book a spot. I have attached a course outline below, it will be modified a bit to fit in as a pool based course. Unfortunately I could not get a small boat charter to handle the ocean part of the course on short notice so changed it to a 1 day pool based course.
For those more interested in Ocean diving the breathold, kicking/swimming and Safety skills I teach are all the same for ocean or pool, the only exception is equalising. I do %95 of my training in a pool and I have dived 100m depth with fins. I'm heading overseas soon so won’t be doing another course in Melbourne for a while. I have been doing competitve freediving since 2002, and teaching freediving in Australia since 2004. You can see some of my dives and results here :-

Hi Walter, 6 of us turned up for your freedive course at Ashburton Pool last Saturday and you failed to show or let us know it wasn't on. Hope all is well and you haven't been caught up in the floods or worse. Please let us all know what is going on with the course when you get back online and/or your mobile gets in range. Thanks.

Unfortunately I had a family emergency come up at the last minute and didn’t get a chance to contact anyone attending the course to say it was cancelled. I have returned everyone’s deposits and apologised about it, was just very bad luck with the timing. I didn’t get a chance to cancel my airfares so am $300+ out of pocket myself. Stuff happens in life you have no control of, just have to deal with it and do the best you can. I will be heading overseas shortly so may not get a chance to do another course in Melbourne until May perhaps. Will post on this forum if I do get the chance to do another course later in the year.

Regards,
Walter
