If your mainly targeting Calamari then the weed beds are where you want to spend most of your time. 5 meters of water is a perfect depth for squid. It depends on who you talk to as to whether you use a gun or a sling. I find guns to be more accurate however, if you do come across a large squad of squid then the quick reloading of a sling will be highly beneficial. it all depends on how accurate you are with a gun and how fast you can reload it and how timid the squid are as to your tool of choice. If you were to choose a gun, get a small (>1m) to start out with. If you head down to your local dive shop they should be able to show you whats on offer. |
