The mini q40 is getting on a bit now and I've just blown another bulb. I figure it's time to get with the times and use one of the newer L.E.D. torches. I'd like to know what others use and what people like. |

Gday Greg, Ive had really tough time with torches the last couple years, killed quite a few of them. At the moment I have a LED lenser frogman d14. I got mine for 70$, its 131 lumen, rated 60m and built really well. It the best torch ive had yet, and its so bright, all you do is blind the crays first and then go for the grab. There are plenty on ebay atm, some have slightly different specs, just make sure you get the magnetic switch and not the twistop. I also have a Pelican 2410 recoil, wich is good, but the one I got was not "nemo" dive series, even though its "submersible" it has a breather valve on it that leaks, as I found out. I epoxied the valve up and its been good down to 20+ meters now, its quite brite at 84 lumen too. Out of the two, i'd deffinitly recommend the Frogman, its a solid unit! Hope this helps, |

No challenge here, but I'll add to the good review on the Frogman. I had one and loved it until the batteries leaked and killed it. Not the torch's fault! Looking at buying another one. |
