I would have thought that when you see a Dyneema loop coming out from the end of the bungy that it would have been Dyneema all the way through. Not the case, it's a Dyneema loop on the end with crappy VB cord up the guts and where it's tied the melted bit on the end of the Dyneema was wearing through it. I don't think it would have broken on me but still pretty poor I reckon.
I thought I would have been able to reuse the guts out of it and just put on new rubber but no way. Lucky I have a good stash of Dyneema to make up a decent one

Are you sure it's VB chord not un-coated dyneema/spectra braid. Will be very slippery and shiny looking.

Thats how rob allen bungies are made, the dyneema on the end is there so it's easy to thread on the muzzle. The soft hallow braid stuff is a pain to get into a hole.

You could be right Nanna but would a melted bit from where the end was sealed be enough to wear through itself if it was Dyneema core?

Nanna the gear wizard was right, it was unsleeved dyneema up the guts of it. That doesn't change the fact that it was wearing out though.

Greg, if you want it strong just make the whole thing from that uncored dyneema.

Sure it's a pain in the arse to get through the hole in the muzzle but of course there is a trick to doing that. Get a paper clip and straighten it out. Put a small hook back on itself on the end. Slip the loop of dyneema into the hook and thread that through the muzzle and pull it out the other side. Then simply run the rest of the bungie through the loop out the other side of the hole like normal.

Thats how I used to do them when working at Adrenaline. Using the uncored dyneema tied witht he normal bridle type dyneema is good if they make them solid because it makes it easy to attach the bungie to the muzzle. However as I just said a paper clip takes all the hard work out of threading uncored stuff through a small muzzle hole.
