Thinking about getting a little rooftopper punt, like the one below for river fishing/hunting and calm water dive boat.
With a small 6hp outboard..
Has anyone got/used these type of boats (Hunters or Fishos on this forum) i need to be able to lift it on the roof cage myself.
Any makes, models or suggestions?
thanks
oZ.

Oz,
Had quite a bit of expierence in small tinnies over my younger days. I would go for something with a V hull in the bow. You will be glad you did. Makes cutting into even the smallest chop a bit more comfortable. You will be surprised what you will take on if you have the right boat, makes for more versatillity. Mallacoota you might think is a good place to use it perhaps, but unless the weather is sweet you will regret it. Square bow boats are good for stability if your standing up front but even in waters like Swan Bay are shit when the wind picks up over 20kn (that's when your on your way back to the ramp). They are rough and wet. Leave them for Duck hunters!

I recon you'd be better off with a smaller (~3 metre) RHIB style boat. A bit lighter, probably cut through the water a bit better, can deflate them and chuck them in the boot.... just sayin'.

Can also Deflate in the river when your hunting/fishing and hit a snag.
