Hi!

I am a bit confused about what is the better way to attach a float: to a gun or to a "quick release weight" on a belt.
So much different opinions around. (sorry if you discussed this topic before. Can not find - please point me out)
Any thoughts?

Never to your belt, shark clip to the base of your handle so if you smack a decent fish you can let go and play the fish with the line.

Big rays and the like might also take an interest in your catch. Generally you string a fish along the float line, or put it in a catch bag on your float. Some bigger rays (etc) would be capable of pulling inflatable floats and maybe even smaller rigid floats, if not down, certainly along with relative ease. Probably don't want to be hard attached to the float if something decides to have a crack at whats on it.

Gun all the way.
