Hi guys!

Need some advice. I`ve tried a new 7 mm suit this week and found that 10 kg on my belt and 2 kg on ankles is far not enough (probably i need another 3-4 kg). But with 10 kg i already feel quite awkward. And i can not imagine another 4 kg.
Any advice? What do you use in this situation? I am 90 kg. Maybe vest? Or how should i better spread 14-15 kg.
Thanks!

You sound like you've got enough weight already, what depths are you diving

I do not usually dive deeper then 10 m and with weight I could not even get under water. Sure I need more, but the question is: whats better way to spread all weight.
Thanks!

I had the same problem, 7mm requires more weight so I am using west which was custom build for me – 10 pounds on my back everything else on the belt. And also the west will help you with duck dive technique.

I doubt you need more weight. I dive a 7 mm in winter as well, 8x 3 lb weights works well even for PPB type depths. Half in a vest and half on the belt. Carry too much weight down and you'll have a lot of fun trying to get it back up - your buoyancy drops fast at depth in a thick suit. Work on your duck dive.

The buoyancy should be neutral on half of the diving depth, if you diving 20m you need to be neutral on 10m. If he is diving on 2-3m then he will strugle to stay down, then he really need more weight. Depends on how deep he want to go.

I don't use ankle weight.

HI guys,

Thanks for an advice! I`ve tried my friend`s vest with 5.5 kg. (gonna buy one!) + 6.5 kg on the belt + 2 kg on the ankles. Worked perfect on 10 m deep.
BTW, Schank and Diamand rd beach were very good last week. A lot of marine life.
