Hi All,

I've been using a sling up until now, but was recently given a second hand gun - an Undersee Phantom 1000.

From my reading of previous posts I know this is no world beater, but happy to give it a shot.

Problem is, it has no rubber or a shooting line:

- Would a 55CM / 16mm rubber be right for this gun? I'm going based on the table at http://www.spearfishing.com.au/spearfis ... stions_faq

- How much shooting line do you need to attach onto the spear?

If anyone has any advice on a reasonably priced and quality place to buy this gear that would be great too!

Cheers,

SPC

Gun probably has a metal slide on the spear. Line comes from that to the little leaver on the handle (Line release) then back to the muzzel ( it ties in the centre underneath). Just use a light nylon rope. Probably 2 or 3 mm at most. Those undersea guns will have sharp edges on the spear notches and usually use a rubber with a metal bridle. You could make up a dynema bridle but will have to round off the sharp edges.
