So, got a new gun in the workshop at the moment, and the final choice to make is wether to go Open, Rollor or closed muzzle.

Personally I have always used open muzzles for the increase in aim and lack of wrapping with the fire lines...
BUT, seeing as I am new to Melb and rollors are coming into high heat, are rollors any use over here, and are they worth it here? Or just stick with an Open muzzle?

Cheers,
Lewy.

As you probably noticed at the meeting last night, we in Victoria are simple creatures. We like our guns simple too. (Or at least I do. ) Roller guns were the next big thing 50 years ago and it has taken all this time for them to become trendy again. The only time I see them being an advantage is in very. very dirty water... shooting really big fish at very close quarters.

Doesn't the water here get dirty as FK though?!
Haha, yeah I noticed everyone here simple folk, its good! complication is hard enough in relationships haha!

So thinking I should just keep with the original option of an open muzzle?

I predominantly use a 1m gun with an enclosed muzzle, 19mm euro bands and a 6.5mm shaft. I've lost some good fish over the years - and its always been my fault. Never the fault of the gun. Admittedly I've never used a gun with a roller muzzle, but I can't see what benefit they would be. My current setup I've used for nearly a decade does the job fine.
