The Southern Freedivers is a Victorian Spearfishing Club formed in 1994. We are a non-profit organisation that prides itself on encouraging and endorsing safe, selective and sustainable spearfishing methods governed by current Victorian Fishing Legislation and the Australian Underwater Federation code of conduct.
Our annual membership base, ranges from 50 to 80 financial members from a wide array of cultural backgrounds, age groups and genders. We have always maintained a good “base” of divers with varying levels of experience from Open National Champions, Australian representatives, long term social divers through to new “up and coming” spear fishers.
Our club season starts in Early September and we run monthly competitions, social events and meetings up until early July. These events are open to everyone whether you’ve just gained an interest in the sport or have being doing it for years. Our meetings are the best starting point for properly introducing yourself, finding out more information on the activities/events we run or just gaining some new diving partners. (Meeting Details are posted at the top of every category Section on the Forum) We welcome all people to attend our meetings and participate.
