just got my hands on a really good condition achilles ex suf lifesaving irb.
its an ssl-375, commonly known as the pocket rocket. weighs 65kg and has a fiberglass two piece surf floor and a 25 hp tohatsu to go with. boat is 2002 model and motor is a 2007.
motor is a sealed block version and has been used for surf lifesaving duties for 2 seasons. pumps heaps of water and comes with new ally prop and new fuel tank and line. motor still has all the strengthened mid section that surf clubs usually remove and keep. this motor can be jacked up to 30hp with 5 minutes of your time and a $5 gasket.
looking for $3200 for boat and motor. boat costs $12,000 new and motor $4500 new with the strengthened bits.

i recently did a 25km round trip in an identical setup to cape liptrap from walkerville in 1.5m swells and it went great and used 7liters of fuel. its light, safe, virtually unsinkable and you don't have to have a trailer for it.
