If I was 176cm, 84kg with bit of a beer gut. As a general rule, would I be around a size 4 or 5 wetsuit??

No need for a custom suit at all.

54 is equivalent to size 5.

Get a 5 and get marty at ocean suits to make it smaller, it'll be cheaper than getting a 4 and getting it made bigger. He does damn fine work!!!!
