Hi all,

I'm fresh in Oz waters, from South Africa, living in Mordialloc and looking for spots for a quick plunge after work, etc. Finally got myself geared up (with basics) and am looking into freediving and eventually spearfishing when I can. Though for now I'm wanting to find out about local sites, whats around, etc.

Anyone out there know of any good spots around Mordy area? I dont have any dive bud's yet, so am happy to do some chilled-out dives alone while getting to know the locals. Any suggestions? Any "safer" spots to dive alone until I can find local mates?

ciao

You can head north and dive off Black Rock, which is quite popular.

You can head south and dive off Mt. Eliza somewhere, or continue further south to Mornington, which is also very popular.

Kurt,

Thank you. I'll be heading out today for a quick squizz, wind blowing, but this bay is the most constantly flat dive spot I've ever lived close to! Hope the species levels aren't flat too! Thanks again.

ciao
