I just bought one of these stones off ebay. My knives hadn't been sharpened for ages and I've never had a decent stone. I gave them a quick go with the steel then put them on the stone and they came up great. Well, as great as a 3000 stone and my technique would allow. These stones seem to be good quality so I'm going to by another one with finer grades. I didn't realise how poor the condition of my knives were until I started sharpening them....
