Hi Kiwi, and thanks for all the info Brett. Have also made contact with a local bloke there that runs the Spearfishing Vanuatu Facebook Page. I'll share some of his info on here in case anyone else is interested...
"Tiz a good season, Wahoos and Yellowfins I believe. And of course all other species. Reef hunting whether it be shore or drop off is easy to arrange and fairly inexpensive in comparison to blue water. Plenty of banana (fibreglass longboats) boats to hire for 5000VT + fuel for the day. We have a good community here, check Vanuatu Spearfishing on Facebook. Good to announce your arrival so that people may join you if they find the time. I'd love to for sure. Depends on work. July is peak season for hotels so I expect I'll be busy but weekends are good for me. Places I recommend are Pango Point & Hat Island, amongst other places. FADs can be awesome but require company. A charter boat is best but 1 FAD (behind Hat Island) can be done with a Banana Boat apparently. Diver wise here there's about 1/2 doz active hunters, the rest are on & off. But yeah, def enough info for you to dive your ass off without having to fork out heavy dough for charters." - Yorick
