So since i have not long got my boat and will be spearing off of it for sure in the near future im after places to go inside the bay and also outside when the weather permits that may not be reached by diving off shore.

What i'm after if you would like to share is.

Location : Name of place, Latitude Longitude, (easily obtained by going to http://maps.google.com.au/ right click on the point of the map and click "whats here" and copy into here) ie; -38.269488,144.670029 should mark a point out from the Queenscliff pier...

Depth: (if known)

Species Of Fish Encountered:

and a general note of what to expect, when it is best dived. eg at flood, slack water, High or Low tide... etc etc...

Anything anyone wanted to share would be great, I realise people are not going to give away their special spots. . .

Tentplate to copy ...

These are some favorite spots when we take the boat out from barwon heads.

For a quick easy dive try the boilers just outside the river, usually very fishy, have shoot/seen all the favorites here but make sure there is no big swell as it really whips up here quick with the change of tide.

We have marks on the gps all the way along from collendina to pt lonsdale, all we do is sound around for interesting reef around 20-30ft mark and jump in. Usually more forgiving on the swell here, you can see where it picks up on the surf beach the closer you head in. The closer you get to pt lonny though you have to be a bit careful of the current, it's not like queenscliffe but it can still keep you swimming hard.

Close in barwon bluff is nice reef too (careful of the MP of course) picked up many crays, Abs and shot a grotesque conger eel here. Once again this is a big surf break usually and it's very rare to get into the closer shallow reefs (around the 25ft mark). Pick your days!

Black Rock is full of awesome reef and a favorite snapper area, didn't get many crays here the past season as it was smashed by the local Pro. Like before we just sound for good looking reef at the right depth and jump in. There seems to be a healthy population of Wobby's around here too, some i think are on steroids.

My favorite location from BH is charlemont reef, which is offshore a bit but it comes right up to with in 8ft of the surface. You can't really miss it because you'll be wandering why the hell is there a surf break so far offshore. You need it to be dead flat to get the best of this area, you can encounter anything and everything out on this reef. It's get's smashed by the bubbles divers a fair bit though.

The last pic is of where I usually smash squid at qeenscliffe, I'm sure there's other fish here, but i'm usualy to distracted by them tasty bastards.

I'm not fussed about sharing locations, these are nothing new to anyone that has a boat.
All have been dived before.

Let me know if you want more.

Paul yeah i'd love to for sure !!! will be having a look at taking some holidays in summer but cant see me driving 900k's with the boat on the back :P

Ash i believe Legally from memory 6 or 7 people but i think it is like 75kg per person with luggage of 15kg or something ... So weight wise probably 4 Divers. It would probably be uncomfortable with more than that if it was a whole day out...

And ligure i cant agree more, He has helped me out endless amounts of time, i would know about half what i do without asking him questions ...

Cheers.

Heres an idea why dont you go diving and learn some locations yourself instead of expecting everyone to spoon feed you! Youl never learn anything if you expect to b jus handed everything. Look at a map yourself and pick somewhere to go if its crap then move if not stay and make a note of it! learn through trial and error! That goes for everyone on this forum who cant do anything for themselves and jus wants to be handed everything!!!

Why bother even posting anything mate ...

You have been joined up here for a matter of days and a big opinion like that will get you nowhere. Hope i don't have to expect that sort of bullshit if i ever meet you at a SFD gathering or dive ...

Basically i was just after a couple of places to head to for a look to start with as i'm new to boating in general. Of course i'm going to go exploring myself and find other spots ...

FFS i don't even know why i'm bothering in replying to your useless bullshit.
