Trent got his new boat float yesterday at legendary and I'm very impressed with it. Very similar to Muzza's and Drews cut off Kayak floats but is made of pastic and is light and has a very comfortable carry harness probably the most pratical one I've seen so far.

Ok post up a pic because I'm keen to get one of these, is it the "packhorse" float boat from NZ or another type one?

Yes it is the packhorse Paul has got them in and is apparently the only one handling them in Australia.

Yeah looks good, straps come with it or are an extra purchase? Geesh they are big I reckon the divR blades would fit in em + all the other gear! Awesome! post up a review when its been out for a dive, would like to know how they handle going through surf and in windy conditions.
Cheers

Wouldn't there be a problem of keeping the fish fresh if you store them in the float? The sun blasting away at it would heat the inside up a fair amount especially if you're in the water for a long dive...

saw these in a shop when i was last in New Zealand. Looked bloody nice in the flesh, was gonna get one but it was gonna cost me a shitload to get it back ($25 per kilo for extra luggage over the limit)
from memory i think the guy said they were made over there

Ash, I too could forsee a problem with the fish gettin pretty warm in that thing. It is a really great design though and i have seen smaller versions of this somewhere when i was looking into it. I guess you could pack it with a few of those freezer bottles which stay cold for ages if you know its going to be a scorcher.

Edit: Heres the attachment for the small versions with dry storage (obviously could be used for smaller fish)

Already talked about chucking in a couple of the dry ice sheets you get from the esky place to keep the fish cool

Fair price for quality item- From the guy who makes em they are 395 NZD then you have to pay shipping, which is certainly not cheap on something as big as this.
