Was just having a look on fisheries and came across this blue groper report.
What do you think?

Superstevo, i can see how it would appear that way, i think they are just commenting on the behaviour of the fish. I know plenty of other species that have been protected where they make comments such as 'particularly vulnerable to long line fisheries' and other such comments.

The earlier versions very much blamed spearfishers for wiping out the blue groper in Vic, which was not only unsubstantiated bullshit but easily disproven from historical comp records. I see they've gone with 'fishing' and Gippsland now, but I bet they haven't got any evidence for it.

I believe that the comments made by the department of primary industries could have not singled out recreational spearfishes, as most of you are aware that the views on spearfishes is currently not in a positive sense, and making these accusations before retrieving facts on how the current Blue Groper population and distribution, before they post these comments on a public website.

Well in wa we target them a little bit and we haven't wiped them out so. What are they on about this is just greenies talking shit like usual.
