Went for my first dive yesterday at Cape Shanck area (still learning all the names). Thanks to Julian for the hospitality and the invite! Had a really great dive and it was great to see how different the sealife is here in Aus... didn't see any super special fish although Julian did see a nice kingfish but it kept it's distance and made sure it didn't come close enough...
Can;t wait for the next dive!
Could someone give me some tips on diving lobsters here? I searched high and low during the 2 hour dive and didn't even see a small one!
The other thing I would also love to do is diving for scallops, any tips/locations? I'll be in the Rye area over Easter and would be keen to do some hunter gathering...

You had a typical Cape Shank cray dive, not the best place for crays.
Just head out pretty much anywhere off Rye in 4-12 mts of water, cover lots of ground till you find some good beds. Watch out for Jet Skis!!!
