Hey guys!

Well ive done a bit of a search and I've come across a lot of threads on portarlington, and queens cliff..

I have a Clifton Springs/Drysdale question!

Im wondering what the reef off to the right of beacon pt road is like for a newbie, and the best way to get there?

I am a fairly experienced diver, but im taking a newbie with me, and the bay isnt exactly my "turf".. well not yet anyway!

I have taken him to a couple of my spots, he has gone ok but i think keeping him under 4m at this stage would be wise.. he has dived off the old pier and got a few mussels but wants to try spearfishing.. Also its going to be a south easter so would be well protected around here

Anyways any advise on these reefs would be great!

Cheers

Howie

The rubble grounds are very shallow. Go High Tide, Full sunny day, swim VERY slow with hand spear and you will encounter large flathead. Sand patches are boring but swim across to find a bit of drift wood or old Tyre and you will find fish!
