Gday Guys,

Thought I better say hello and introduce myself.

Grew up in Eden on the South Coast NSW, but have been living up in Coffs and the North Coast area (Lennox, Byron, Ballina) for about the last 10 years.

Recently got back into spearing, after I moved from Eden I didnt do much spearing, just did a lot of surfing and kiting. Mainly because abs are almost non existent and to be I honest didnt know much about the marine life up here. Throw in uni, work, life, and now kids etc etc I was too busy.

Anyway the missis brought me a new 1100 Torelli Tigon for Christmas, so Ive been out chasing Kings and Mahi-Mahi off the Solitary islands, Wave bouys and FADs.

Ive attached a pic of my first Mahi Mahi taken off the Coffs FAD. Water was 25 degrees with 25m+ vis, it was a pretty epic day.

Cheers
Chris

Went down to the South coast over the weekend for a wedding at my parents property down at Wonboyn. Had a great three days and dived every day. Didnt get any other pictures other than these ones as we headed down the end of the Northern beach under Greencape. Ended up with a feed of Ab's, two nice Bream and a good bag of mussels. I miss diving the South Coast, the water was crystal clear and about 21 degrees (kinda cold for me) but the 3.5mm Rob Allen did the job nicely.

Cheers
Chris

Ah that thing is a 1600 VW Beetle. Its similar to the Manx buggies, but not quite the same shape body.

That one in particular is on a hot dipped gal, and powder coated chassis, running a 1600 engine, stainless exhaust system, with a weird Jag rear coil over suspension setup. Its been in our family as long as I can remember, and Ive been around for 30 odd years. Its been through a few floor pans with them rusting out over the years, the motor has been rebuilt a couple of times and Ive forgotten how many brake and wheel cylinders its been through but in its current form hopefully it should see my kids out easy! Its quiet, light, simple and with the big smooth tyres floats over that dry soft sand barely leaving a tyre mark in it.

I'd be amazed if you found a cray in the same area as that! Nice fish for a sneaky dive!

Sneaky early morning Dive out along Woolgoolga Headland. Success was is only seconds away here - which soon tuned into failure after I missed what could have been the easiest cray grab ever!

No Fish, and no after photos (Gopro went flat) but I did manage to grab one cray and bag out on Ab's on the way in.
