Something shiny + a rope + a dive float = a flasher.

As for the shiny - CD's, spoons, Old HDD platters, mirrors, disco balls, etc.

There are plenty of pictures and you just copy them. Heavy mono, snap swivels, mirrors, cds, perspex, disco balls, fishing lures, crimps. In the end anything shiny and connect it. If it makes noise under the water even better.

10kg. Just remember there are plenty of other fish they work on too.
Squid, bluethroats, couta, pike, salmon, leathers to name a few.

Once your done chuck your design up but most important let us know how you go.
Persistance is the key.

Good fish!
Yeah, I'm happy for whatever as long as it tastes good!
What about silvers? Do they like them?
Mine managed to bring in sweep. We kept a pike tethered which brought in the Kings and they seemed to like the cd's!

Whilst on paternity leave (just added little boy to the family!) I got to spend some time in the shed and get to a few of those odd jobs whilst kids and mum were sleeping.

I had a square plate of 3mm stainless sitting in the shed for years so out same the 5 inch and drill. Haha sleeping kids and a 5 inch grinder! yeah I got yelled at!

Used some crimps and 200lb Mono to hold it all together.

I havent done any blue water hunting with it yet but have been for a cray hunt and took it with us to have a look at how it works. Its quite heavy so it tends to sit kinda still unless its pretty choppy or worked aggressively which is a shame but it defiantly throws out the silver flashes. The reflective tape, meh I had some so I put it on, if it falls off so be it I dont mind. Will eventually add a bigger lure when I find a cheap one.

Will try and get a polishing wheel (local mitre10 didnt have one) and give the stainless a bit more of a buff.

Im happy with it considering it cost me next to $0.

Just keep this in mind, sharks get stuck in ladder type flashers and take them away
