Hi Guys,
Just joined after lurking for a while. Started snorkeling and spearing with a Hawaiian Sling 20 odd years in the Queenscliff/Point Lonsdale area and after a few years off have started to get into it again. Bought some gear and put together my float etc. Recently purchased an entry level spear-gun (Mares, Bandit 110
http://www.wilderness.net.au/skin/common_files/images/pdf/Mares%20Spearfishing%20AU%20Consumer%20Catalogue%202013-14.pdf). Just thought I would introduce myself and pick some brains for hints and tips.
Think I may have gone a little over-board with the 110, but didn't want to be under-gunned if I see a big one!
Heading to Portland at Easter and thought I might check out the Lee Break-water. Any knowledge on the area would be appreciated.
I have wetsuit, booties, gloves and thermals etc, along with the equipment pictured. Is there anything that I may have overlooked?
