Hi All,
I’m running a 1 day Pool Freediving course on this Sunday 5 April. Since it’s last minute am dropping the price to $150. I will do all the same Theory and Practical as the normal courses I run minus the boat dive. I will organise a boat dive at a later stage since there are others that have done the course but missed out on the ocean session. Most people on previous courses after learning proper breathing, relaxation and preparation techniques have achieved around 3 - 4 minute statics. As always learning safety and blackout rescue techniques are a major part of the course. All the same techniques learned in the pool can be applied in the ocean.

(I was going to run a full course but didn't get the numbers to book a boat. Mostly due to people being away for the Easter long weekend.)

Big thank you to Walter Steyn for attending our club meeting last night. Walter had us all listening intently the whole way through his presentation and asking plenty of questions during the night. Walters freediving efforts are amazing, and he has a vast amount of knowledge on the subjuect of freediving, which he was very happy to convey clearly to us all. I have no doubt any of us would benefit from attending a full course under his intruction.

Walter has a lot of invaluable knowledge and packages it up nicely. I just did a short course with him last weekend and learned a lot and had time to put a lot of it into practice on the day. He is more than happy to talk about his great passion for free diving and how it is useful for us spear fishers. If you get the opportunity to attend a course by Walter I reckon you should jump at the chance. It's especially useful for novices like me.
