Due to issues of integrity, health issues ( both physical and mental ) and for the advancement of the SFD club as a whole, I hereby relinquish any official committee position……effective…NOW. I am the longest serving, continuous member of this club, and have been a contributor with both time and donated resources as Brett Illingworth, DiveUnder , and more recently Esclapez Diving Australia, for the betterment of this club. I do not wish the club to either feel hobbled or obligated to me due to any sense of misguided loyalty. I believe overtures of sponsorship for the club have been broached. These offerings should be welcomed with both arms open. I have oft thought that me being a sponsor, as well as a committee member may be seen to some, as some sort of conflict of interest. It has been suggested to me on more than one occasion that the SFD may be my own personal toy, and that my involvement may hinge more on gain than pleasure. No longer. I will still donate prizes, when and where I can. I will still offer advice to the new ( and not new). I will spend a little more time in the mentoring role if need be. My involvement will not be determined by profit or loss. I want people to purchase Epsealon gear, not because they feel obligated, but because it is the best gear for the job. There is a changing of the guard, and all who offer to help out the club, in whatever form, should be embraced. Brett |

I'm not around the club a whole lot these days. I don't do comps, I rarely attend meetings so I'm not sure where this has come from old boy. To me you are a valued SFD member and club constant, a fantastic spearo, one of the great spearfishing identities in this state/country and a friend. When you were off filming crab porn, Presso night wasn't the same without you there talking shit! One thing is for sure, this club is a whole lot better off with you involved in it. |

You are in it for financial gain? People are fricken idiots....how many hours a week do you dive for how many $? Thanks for all your help Brett - its always appreciated. |
